Mick began his career in weatherization in 2007, at the age of 19. Prior to that, he spent his summers building houses alongside his father, which laid a solid foundation for his interest in energy conservation. Mick’s professional journey started at Longs Peak Energy Conservation (LPEC) where he was initially hired in an entry-level capacity. His tenure at LPEC was marked by a series of promotions, advancing to Crew Lead, gained experience in the HVAC department, and received training to become an auditor. After a brief departure from the field, which Mick considered a regrettable hiatus, he rejoined the industry in 2019 with the Energy Resource Center (ERC), starting again as a Crew Lead before advancing to the roles of Energy Auditor, Quality Control Inspector, and ultimately, Regional Director. Additionally, Mick spent some time as a Quality Specialist at the Colorado Energy Office’s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), further deepening his expertise and commitment to this sector.
“Weatherization has been a driving passion throughout most of my professional life. One of the aspects I cherish most about my work is the opportunity to foster a similar enthusiasm for this field among new employees”.
Mick and his wife Rylee were blessed in 2023 with the arrival of their daughter. He is eager to share his passions for sports, fishing, hunting, and archery with her, as well as supporting whatever interests she may develop. Their family enjoys engaging in simple pleasures like ice cream dates and lively dance sessions at home, accompanied by loud music.
