The Denver Foundation

Energy Resource Center is pleased to announce we have received support for our Home Repairs Fund – Denver from The Denver Foundation’s Community Grants Program Fall 2021 and from the Climate Equity Fund, a donor-advised fund of The Denver Foundation.

The Climate Equity Fund seeks to deploy resources to nonprofit organizations that are addressing climate change by supporting innovative local projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions while meeting the needs of communities most impacted by climate change. Eligible organizations had to articulate how their specific program reduces carbon emissions in a measurable way, and how it supports individuals, communities, and neighborhoods in efforts to reduce climate change and improve community well-being. This is a powerful affirmation that Energy Resource Center’s work is recognized for, not only helping families save money on energy bills, assisting with the affordable housing crisis, and creating a safe environment in which Colorado residents can thrive, but positively impacting the environment and air quality in Colorado by reducing the amount of carbon emitted into the atmosphere by increasing energy efficiency.

The Denver Foundation is a community foundation dedicated to improving life for people who live in the seven-county Metro Denver region, which includes Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties. Through the Community Grants Program, the Foundation invests in resident groups and nonprofit organizations that are reducing disparities and promoting equity for communities, prioritizing people living in poverty, immigrants and refugees, and people of color. By supporting our Home Repairs Fund – Denver, they enable our Denver office to provide needed home safety repairs to many low-income residents, which then secures their qualification for free home energy efficiency upgrades from federal and state programs. Our work ensures that those we serve, who are among the most vulnerable populations, have safe, healthy and environmentally friendly homes for many years to come.

We are grateful to partner with these innovative financial supporters who understand how Energy Resource Center benefits people and the planet by providing the opportunity for every Colorado household to maximize energy efficiency, eliminate hazards and create a sustainable future.
